Social Media Coordinator:
NENA Ontario is looking for a self-motivated individual that is engaged in social media and is interested in volunteering to create and maintain an online presence for the organization. This position will, in consultation with the Executive and Board of Directors, be responsible for developing and updating content on multiple social media platforms on a regular basis.
Responsibilities include:
- In consultation with the Executive and Board of Directors, create engaging text, image and video content for current profiles on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
- Create a posting schedule to ensure ongoing and up-to-date activity
- Recommend additional social media site profiles to ensure the organization is reaching as many people as possible
- Stay up-to-date with changes in social media platforms to ensure maximum effectiveness
- Facilitate, in consultation with the Executive and Board of Directors, online conversations with followers and respond to queries
- Monitor usage of NENA Ontario social media sites
- Suggest new ways to engage our current members and attract new people
Qualifications include:
- Knowledge of current emergency service environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to deliver creative content
- Experience in multiple social media platforms
- Knowledge of keyword search and analytic programs

Website Manager:
NENA Ontario is looking for a creative, self-motivated individual that has the knowledge and expertise required to effectively manage our organization’s website. This volunteer position will, in consultation with the Executive and Board of Directors, be responsible for developing, maintaining and updating website content.
Responsibilities include:
- In consultation with the Executive and Board of Directors, create appropriate website content that is aligned with the organization’s mission, vision and values
- Plan, manage and update the overall design and content of the organization’s website
- Manage access to the “Member” area of the website
- Monitor website usage and content and report findings to the Executive and Board of Directors
- Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and monitor other affiliate websites to support their content
Qualifications include:
- Knowledge of current emergency service environment
- Excellent communication and writing skills including spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Photoshop (or similar program)
- Experience in website management, design, layout and graphics
- Knowledge of keyword search and analytic programs
